Adding to The Aesthetic
Types of Deck Railings
Picking out a deck railing can be a daunting task. Whether wood, metal, or composite, there are so many railing styles out there. Common types of deck railing include wood, composite, cable wire, aluminum, picket, and metal. We use Timbertech / Azek deck railings for our composite deck builds.
Deck railings consist of five basic parts: posts, top rails, bottom rails, balusters, and railing caps. Each has its own unique shapes, sizes, and styles. Our design team works side-by-side with you to help pick out the perfect deck railing solution for your outdoor space—even introducing you to some styles that you may not have known existed.
Deck Railing Costs
In general, composite decking materials are more expensive than wood materials, but that is just the up-front cost. You actually may end up saving money in the long-run by avoiding most general maintenance costs. Where wood can crack and splinter, composite, metal, and aluminum materials are more resilient to normal wear and tear. Staining, resurfacing, and resealing your deck are a thing of the past.
